How to Wire a Dimmer on a 3 Way Switch
Installing a dimmer on a 3-way switch can be a challenging task for those who are not familiar with electrical wiring. The common terminals are used to connect the power source to the light fixture, while the traveler terminal is used to carry the electrical current between the two switches.
Here are the steps to wire a dimmer on a 3-way switch:

Turn off the power to the circuit at the main electrical panel. This is essential for your safety. Use a voltage tester to confirm that the power is off.

Remove the faceplate of the 3-way switch and expose the terminals. You will see three terminals: one common terminal (usually marked as C) and two traveler terminals (usually marked as T1 and T2).

Disconnect the wires from the existing 3-way switch. If the switch is a single-pole switch, you will have two wires connected to the common and traveler terminals. If the switch is a 3-way switch, you will have three wires connected to the common, traveler, and another traveler terminal.
