Step 1: Open the Control Panel
To begin, open the Control Panel on your computer. You can do this by clicking on the Start button, typing “Control Panel” in the search bar, and selecting the Control Panel app from the search results.
Step 2: Navigate to Devices and Printers
Once the Control Panel is open, navigate to the “Devices and Printers” section. This section will display a list of all the devices connected to your computer, including printers and scanners.
Step 3: Select the Printer with the Queue
Locate the printer with the queue you want to delete from the list of devices. Right-click on the printer and select “See what’s printing” from the context menu.
Step 4: Open the Printer Queue
In the “Printer” window that opens, click on the “Printer” tab at the top of the window. This tab will display the current print jobs and printer queue.
Step 5: Delete the Printer Queue
To delete the printer queue, click on the “Cancel All Documents” button. A confirmation dialog will appear, asking if you are sure you want to cancel all pending print jobs. Click “Yes” to confirm.
Step 6: Remove the Printer
After the print jobs have been canceled, right-click on the printer again and select “Remove Device” from the context menu. This will remove the printer from your system, along with any associated printer queues.
Step 7: Restart the Print Spooler Service
To ensure that the printer queue is completely deleted, restart the Print Spooler service. To do this, open the Services management console by typing “services.msc” in the Run dialog (accessed by pressing Windows key + R) and pressing Enter. Locate the “Print Spooler” service, right-click on it, and select “Restart.”
