How to Delete Files from iCloud on iPhone

In today’s digital age, iCloud has become an essential part of managing our data on iPhone. It allows us to store and sync our files, photos, and documents across all our devices. However, there may come a time when you need to delete files from iCloud to free up space or remove unnecessary data. In this article, we will guide you through the process of deleting files from iCloud on your iPhone.

Step 1: Access iCloud Settings

To begin, open the “Settings” app on your iPhone. Scroll down and tap on “iCloud.” This will display a list of all the services available under iCloud.

Step 2: Select the File Type

Next, scroll through the list of services and tap on the file type you want to delete from iCloud. This could be Photos, Documents & Data, Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc. For this example, we will delete photos.

Step 3: View and Manage Photos

After tapping on “Photos,” you will see two options: “iCloud Photos” and “My Photo Stream.” To delete photos from iCloud, you need to enable “iCloud Photos.” If it’s already enabled, skip to the next step. If not, toggle the switch to turn it on.

Step 4: Select Photos to Delete

Once “iCloud Photos” is enabled, go back to the main iCloud settings screen. Tap on “Photos” again, and you will see a list of all your photos stored in iCloud. Scroll through the photos and select the ones you want to delete. To select multiple photos, tap on the first photo, then swipe left or right to select additional photos.

Step 5: Delete Selected Photos

After selecting the photos, tap on the ” trash” icon located at the bottom left corner of the screen. A confirmation dialog will appear, asking if you want to delete the selected photos from all devices. Tap “Delete” to confirm the deletion.

Step 6: Confirm Deletion

You will receive a final confirmation message stating that the selected photos have been deleted from all devices. Tap “OK” to complete the process.

Step 7: Free Up Space

If you have deleted a large number of photos or other files from iCloud, you may want to free up space on your iPhone. Go back to the main iCloud settings screen and tap on “Manage Storage.” From there, you can view the storage usage and delete any remaining files that are taking up space.

By following these steps, you can easily delete files from iCloud on your iPhone. Remember that once files are deleted from iCloud, they cannot be recovered, so make sure you have backed up any important data before proceeding.
