How to Delete All Pictures from Google Photos

In this digital age, it’s not uncommon to accumulate a vast collection of photos in Google Photos. However, if you find yourself needing to delete all the pictures from your Google Photos account, it’s important to do it correctly to avoid any accidental loss of data. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to delete all pictures from Google Photos.

Step 1: Access Google Photos

First, you need to access your Google Photos account. You can do this by opening the Google Photos app on your smartphone or by visiting the Google Photos website on your computer.

Step 2: Select All Photos

Once you’re logged in, navigate to the album or folder containing the photos you want to delete. To select all the pictures, tap on the “Select” button in the upper right corner of the screen. On the website, you can click on the “Select” button next to the search bar.

Step 3: Confirm the Deletion

After selecting all the photos, you will see a confirmation pop-up asking if you’re sure you want to delete all the selected items. Click “Delete” to proceed.

Step 4: Delete from Google Photos

If you’re using the Google Photos app, the photos will be deleted immediately. However, if you’re using the website, you may need to wait a few moments for the deletion to take effect.

Step 5: Confirm Deletion from Trash

Google Photos keeps deleted photos in a “Trash” folder for a period of time, usually 30 days. To ensure that the photos are permanently deleted, go to the “Trash” folder and select all the deleted items. Then, tap on the “Delete” button to remove them from the trash.

Step 6: Confirm Deletion from Backup

In case you have enabled Google Photos backup, the deleted photos might still be stored on your device. To delete them from your device, go to the Google Photos app on your smartphone and navigate to the “Albums” section. Tap on the “Backups” album and select all the photos. Finally, tap on the “Delete” button to remove them from your device.

By following these steps, you can successfully delete all pictures from Google Photos. Remember to double-check your selections before confirming the deletion, as once the photos are deleted, they cannot be easily recovered.
