How to Delete History from Maps

In today’s digital age, maps have become an integral part of our daily lives, providing us with directions, location-based services, and a wealth of information. However, for many users, the accumulation of location history can be a cause for concern, especially if they wish to maintain their privacy or simply declutter their maps. In this article, we will discuss the steps to delete history from maps on various platforms, including Google Maps, Apple Maps, and Waze.

Google Maps

Google Maps allows users to save their location history, which can be accessed from the “Your Places” section. To delete this history, follow these steps:

1. Open the Google Maps app on your smartphone or visit the Google Maps website on your computer.
2. Log in to your Google account.
3. On the app, tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the upper left corner. On the website, click on the profile icon in the upper right corner.
4. Select “Your Places” from the menu options.
5. Go to the “Maps” tab.
6. Tap on “Location History” or “Location History” on the website.
7. You will see a list of all the places you have visited. To delete a specific location, tap on the three dots next to it and select “Remove.”
8. To delete all location history, tap on the three dots in the upper right corner of the “Location History” page and select “Delete all location history.”

Apple Maps

Apple Maps also stores location history for users who have enabled the feature. To delete this history, follow these steps:

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Scroll down and tap on “Privacy.”
3. Tap on “Location Services.”
4. Scroll down and tap on “System Services.”
5. Tap on “Sign in with Apple.”
6. Under “Location History,” toggle the switch to “Off.”
7. To delete existing location history, tap on “Manage Location History” and then tap on “Delete All Location History.”

Waze

Waze allows users to save their driving history, which can be accessed from the app’s settings. To delete this history, follow these steps:

1. Open the Waze app on your smartphone.
2. Tap on the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the upper left corner.
3. Select “Settings.”
4. Scroll down and tap on “Privacy.”
5. Tap on “Clear History.”
6. Confirm the deletion by tapping “Clear.”
